I hope they will be heard, of they might be a need to cry louder, the European Elections are coming soon in 2009. Unfortunately for EPO examiners, the EPO is not an EU institution and will probably never be.

Very few EPO examiners believes she is doing something to tackle quality problems of the EPO:

According to an EPO internal staff survey of June 2008, only 9% of the EPO examiners believes that "Brimelow and the Vice-Presidents actively promote patent quality".

The board of directors of the European Patent Office is nearly exclusively composed of representatives of the national patent offices. Yet, half of the yearly fees go to the national patent offices. This contributed to the emergence of this pan-european organisation that controls itself and profits from it.

I wonder how the EPO examiners can claim issuing quality for such patents:
